In a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Shimla, Dr Pavnesh Kumar, IAS (Retd.), officially became a member of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC). The event, characterized by its regal setting, saw the Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla swearing in Dr Kumar, witnessed by Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena and conducted by Secretary to the Governor, C.P. Verma. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla was also present at the occasion.

Attendees included notable figures such as HPPSC Chairman Rameshwar Singh Thakur, Human Rights Commission Chairman P.S. Rana, and Lokayukta C.B. Barowalia. Advocate General Anup Kumar Rattan and former Speaker of the HP Vidhan Sabha, Gangu Ram Musafir, along with other senior officials and Dr Kumar's family, added gravitas to the proceedings. Post-ceremony, Dr Kumar shared with the media his intentions to uphold the Commission's transparency, a trait for which it is renowned across India.

Dr Kumar emphasized the Commission's duty to implement recruitment promptly and fairly, adhering to government directives. He promised improvements wherever feasible, with a focus on ensuring deserving candidates secure jobs without concern over the integrity of the selection process. His mission is to sustain the core values of transparency, efficiency, and meritocracy within the HPPSC.
