The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched a series of extensive searches at 18 locations across Karnataka on Saturday, targeting individuals connected to the murder case of ex-Bajrang Dal member Suhas Shetty. This operation spanned multiple districts including Mangaluru, Chikkamagaluru, and Hassan.
Suhas Shetty was assaulted and killed in a public attack in the Bajpe area of Mangaluru City earlier this May, with Abdul Safwan and several accomplices identified as the culprits. The NIA's intervention, initiated after assuming control of the case in June, seeks to unveil any networks or motivations that might underline such acts of violence.
Throughout the raids, the NIA seized multiple digital devices like 11 mobile phones, 13 SIM cards, and eight memory cards. Alongside these were documents considered vital to the ongoing investigation, providing new insights as authorities continue to delve into the alleged intent to incite terror within society.
