Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has engaged directly with victims of the Dharali cloudburst at the Uttarkashi PWD Guest House, emphasizing ongoing efforts to airlift stranded individuals to safety. Notably, Mahendra Chauhan, one of the survivors, recounted the harrowing ordeal of his missing sister, her husband, and their child, unable to establish communication since the disaster.
Reports from Dharali resonate with similar distress, as another villager reveals that his younger brother and family are among the disappeared. CM Dhami has reassured the distressed families that rescue operations will commence post-weather improvements, anticipating heli services to evacuate affected residents shortly.
In parallel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after consulting with CM Dhami, has extended assurances of comprehensive central aid. Relentless rainfall has posed challenges, yet rescue efforts, led by state and national agencies including the Indian Army and NDRF, persist with vigor. CM Dhami's visit to the Uttarakashi Joshiyada helipad affirmed commitment to thorough damage assessment and continued relief deployment.
