In a candid expression of his frustration, Lok Sabha MP from Daman and Diu, Patel Umeshbhai Babubhai, has criticized the persistent disruptions in Parliament, attributing the continued standoff between the ruling party and opposition as the primary obstacle to the House's smooth operation. Emphasizing the misuse of public funds, he proposed withholding MPs' salaries when Parliament is non-functional.
Heightening the political tension, members of the INDIA bloc, with prominent figures like Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, demonstrated in the Parliament House complex. Their protest was aimed at opposing the Election Commission's decision to revise the voter roll in Bihar, publicly demanding a proper discussion instead of unilateral action.
In two significant moves, Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury submitted a Suspension of Business notice in the Rajya Sabha, and Congress MP Manickam Tagore filed an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha. These actions sought to address the alleged large-scale deletions and irregularities in the current Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar, demanding thorough investigations and transparency.
