Bengaluru was abuzz as Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the much-anticipated Lalbagh Flower Show 2025 on Thursday, dedicating the event to historical figures Kittur Rani Channamma and Sangolli Rayanna. These iconic leaders played pivotal roles in India's resistance against British colonial rule.
Siddaramaiah announced that 110 acres of land would be dedicated at the site where Rayanna was executed, in a bid to honor his sacrifices. The chief minister paid homage to Channamma's military prowess, acknowledging her victories against British forces and her diverse army.
In a fiery address, Siddaramaiah also criticized BJP leader R Ashok, accusing him of failing to address crucial issues concerning transport workers during his term as Transport Minister. He labeled Ashok's tenure as marked by hypocrisy and incompetence, referencing a major transport strike that led to significant hardships for employees under his watch.
