Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan declared a significant achievement in the state's agricultural growth, which has more than doubled the national average. Speaking at the Farmers' Day celebration, he reported that Kerala attained a growth rate of 4.65% against the national 2.1%.

The CM attributed this success to strategic measures such as Mission 2026, Mission 2033, and a comprehensive crop insurance scheme. Furthermore, the introduction of over 150 agritech start-ups aims to modernize agriculture and increase farmers' income by 50%. The state government is focusing on combining traditional and modern farming practices for better outcomes.

Vijayan emphasized the need to address climate change and market volatility, which affect agriculture. The Rs 2,365 crore KERA Project supported by the World Bank is among the initiatives to counter these issues. Despite challenges such as wildlife threats, the CM stressed a constructive dialogue and innovative solutions for advancing the agricultural sector.
