The investigation into the attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is intensifying, with the Delhi Police coordinating closely with the Rajkot Police and Central agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau. Sources indicate the probe includes scrutiny of the accused, Rajesh Khimji's, social media activities and a review of his phone by forensic experts.

Khimji allegedly carried out the attack to raise awareness about the plight of three lakh stray dogs in Delhi. This follows a Supreme Court directive seeking the removal of stray dogs from certain areas. Recently, the court reserved its order on appeals to halt this order, drawing significant public attention.

In response to the attack, Chief Minister Gupta has been granted Z-category security by the Central Reserve Police Force. Meanwhile, Khimji, who was arrested shortly after the attack, has been remanded to a five-day police custody while Delhi Police continue their comprehensive investigation.
