In a tragic incident at Ashok Vihar, Delhi, a sanitation worker lost his life due to exposure to toxic gas while cleaning a sewer. The deceased, identified as 40-year-old Arvind from Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, was pronounced dead on arrival at DDU Hospital. Three other workers were admitted to the ICU, battling serious health complications resulting from the exposure.

Police confirmed they received a PCR call around noon on September 16 regarding the incident, which occurred near Harihar Apartments, Ashok Vihar Phase-II. The other affected workers, Sonu and Narayana from Uttar Pradesh, and Naresh from Bihar, were rushed to medical care in a state of drowsiness.

The local police have launched an investigation, summoning the Manager of Brijgopal Construction Company to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. Sewer cleaning activities had been reportedly ongoing in the area for several days prior to the incident.
