A man has been apprehended for allegedly causing a hit-and-run accident that left two men injured in central Delhi's Paharganj area. Authorities have confiscated his blood-stained vehicle, an official reported on Tuesday.
On September 14, around 2:20 am, the incident occurred near the Rail Reservation Centre on Chelmsford Road, where victims Kalu Das, 50, and Anil Das, 48, from Bihar's Banka district, were found injured and subsequently admitted to Lady Hardinge Medical College Hospital, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan.
The investigation, spurred by CCTV evidence, identified the suspect, Govind Gupta of Bareilly, whose vehicle matched the red car seen in the footage. Police used technical surveillance to confirm Gupta's location at the time of the incident, leading to his arrest and the recovery of the car involved. Gupta has admitted his role in the crime, the police confirmed.
