Villarreal's midfielder, Thomas Partey, has made headlines after appearing in a London court on Wednesday, where he pleaded not guilty to multiple charges involving rape and sexual assault.

The Ghanaian international, once an integral player for Arsenal, faces allegations of five counts of rape related to two women and an additional charge of sexual assault on a third woman. The incidents allegedly occurred during his tenure at the Premier League club between April 2021 and June 2022.

Having transferred to Villarreal this summer, the 32-year-old Partey stood in the dock at Southwark Crown Court, stating only his name and date of birth before unequivocally pleading not guilty to all charges.
