Tragedy struck in Nellore district on Wednesday as a sand-laden truck collided head-on with a car, leaving seven dead at the scene, police reported.
The victims, who were traveling from Nellore town to Atmakur government hospital, died instantly in the devastating crash near Sangam mandal. Among the deceased was a 15-year-old girl.
The truck driver fled immediately post-collision. A manhunt is underway, and a case has been registered. YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed profound sadness and urged for preventative measures to avoid such tragedies in the future.
