The Patiala House Court on Thursday issued a directive to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Dhaula Kuan in Delhi, emphasizing the importance of preserving CCTV footage linked to a BMW accident case. This directive comes in response to an application from the accused's lawyer, Gaganpreet Kaur, who requested the conservation of such evidence from the accident site.

The fatal accident, which resulted in the death of Navjot Singh, Deputy Secretary in the Finance Ministry, has prompted significant legal proceedings. The hearing will continue amid debates over bail and investigative procedures. The court has directed the police to provide their response to Kaur's bail plea by Saturday and has extended her judicial custody until September 27.

In an earlier hearing, senior advocate Ramesh Gupta argued that invoking culpable homicide was unnecessary, suggesting flaws in the police investigation. Gupta noted potential negligence by emergency services and argued for the inclusion of additional witnesses. Conversely, Delhi Police raised concerns over Kaur's conduct post-accident, questioning her motives and actions.
