In a significant development, Delhi's Patiala House Court has instructed the Delhi Cantonment Police Station's Station House Officer to retain vital CCTV footage linked to a notorious BMW accident case. The directive came amid concerns raised by the defense about missing key evidence.
The accused, Gaganpreet Kaur, has demanded the preservation of footage from Pillar no. 65 and 67, which could provide crucial insights into the incident that resulted in the tragic death of Navjot Singh, a high-ranking government official. Court observed the police's evasive response to prior applications.
While the court ordered the preservation of the footage, it emphasized that production of the same is under police purview, not a right to be claimed by the accused at this juncture.
