Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel marked Gandhi Jayanti with a prayer meeting at Kirti Mandir in Porbandar and announced significant discounts on Khadi products. The move supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Vocal for Local' initiative and aims to foster the use of Swadeshi goods.
Starting October 2, 2025, a 30% rebate will be applied to Khadi and Polyvastra products, available as a consumer discount until December 31. This initiative aligns with Modi's 'Khadi for Nation - Khadi for Fashion', promoting the use of indigenous products to build an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Financial assistance for Khadi production is expected to significantly boost sales, particularly benefiting rural artisans. This holiday season, the Gujarat Khadi Board will host exhibition-cum-sale fairs across the state to further support this initiative, promoting Swadeshi goods throughout Diwali and beyond.
