In a call for greater self-reliance, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat tied regional unrest to political mismanagement, highlighting a need for indigenous approaches to governance. Speaking at the Vijayadashmi rally, Bhagwat underscored the need for India to adopt 'swadeshi' strategies and reject dependency on foreign trade compulsion.
Chief guest, former President Ram Nath Kovind, and other dignitaries marked the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Bhagwat acknowledged current regional turmoil as a result of discord between governments and societies, cautioning against forces looking to destabilize India both internally and externally.
Bhagwat emphasized cultural ties with neighboring countries, underscoring the importance of peace and prosperity in South Asia. He also highlighted climate and economic challenges, calling for Indian intellectuals to devise development models based on Indian philosophy rather than relying on global norms.
