The district administration of Ramban, Jammu & Kashmir, has launched an extensive campaign to combat the rise in waterborne diseases, intensified by recent heavy rains and landslides. Chief Medical Officer Kamal Zadoo stated the medical department is proactive to avert potential post-flood epidemics like hepatitis, eye conjunctivitis, and skin infections.
In collaboration with the health department, they operated 113 camps within 15-20 days, focusing on vulnerable areas. Zadoo affirmed their commitment to preventing post-flood epidemics by disseminating essential waterborne disease advisories.
The campaign emphasizes boiling drinking water and frequent hand washing. Health officials continue immunization plans while employing field testing kits for water quality surveillance, ensuring clean drinking water through measures like using bleaching powder and alum.
