The Gandhinagar metro rail system took a significant step forward on Vijayadashami with the trial run extending from Sachivalaya to Mahatma Mandir. This progression, marked by a successful trial run, highlights the dedication of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who has been instrumental in accelerating the metro project's pace.
The Chief Minister's Office announced plans to seek approval from the Metro Rail Commissioner, aiming for operational status by Nutan Varsh (New Year). The metro will facilitate travel across 53 stations over a 68-kilometer stretch, fostering affordable and eco-friendly transport between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
On the same day, Chief Minister Patel honored Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, emphasizing Gandhi's role in India's independence through the principles of khadi and Swadeshi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a self-reliant India aligns with these ideals, encouraging the 'Vocal for Local' initiative.
