Mumbai Hotel Raid Uncovers Illegal Stay of Ugandan and Kenyan Women

In a recent raid, Mumbai police detained nine women from Uganda and Kenya who were allegedly staying illegally at a Powai hotel. The women were found to have overstayed their visas, said an official on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, the authorities raided the establishment and discovered the women had been residing in the country beyond their visa validity. The investigation continues to determine the nature of their activities during their illegal stay.
In connection with the incident, the hotel's manager has been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Meanwhile, law enforcement has initiated deportation proceedings for the women, aiming to repatriate them as swiftly as possible.
