Political Blame Game Over Karur Tragedy

In the aftermath of a tragic stampede in Karur, Tamil Nadu's political atmosphere has intensified, with AIADMK's Edappadi K Palaniswami accusing Chief Minister M K Stalin of exploiting the incident for political gain.

Palaniswami criticized the involvement of government officials, particularly department secretaries, in defending the stampede incident, arguing that their duty lies with the people rather than the ruling party's narrative. He pledged that once AIADMK returns to power in 2026, all responsible officials will face consequences.

The AIADMK leader also highlighted alleged biases in police protection, pointing out inadequate security at his party meetings. He expressed confidence in a public backlash against the DMK in the upcoming elections due to the government's perceived failure to ensure public safety.
