In a significant drug bust, the Madhya Pradesh Police Narcotics Wing has confiscated over 20 kilograms of Alprazolam powder, valued at approximately Rs 5 crore, from the city of Ujjain. The operation also led to the arrest of two individuals involved in the contraband, officials confirmed on Friday.

The operation was initiated after Inspector Rakesh Chaudhary received crucial intelligence about a suspected narcotics transport from Ujjain to Kolkata. Acting on this lead, a team under DSP Santosh was deployed to Ujjain, where they apprehended the suspect, Mustakh Mansoori, recovering the illicit substance.

Further investigations revealed that Mansoori was supplied with the drugs by Om Raidas, also residing in Ujjain. Both men have been apprehended, and the authorities are now tracing assets gained from the illegal drug trade, with plans to initiate freezing actions soon. An ongoing investigation aims to identify other network members involved.
