The Election Commission of India is expected to unveil the schedule for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections during a press conference at 4 PM on Monday. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar confirmed in a previous Patna briefing that the elections are slated to occur before November 22, prior to the conclusion of the current legislative term.

Bihar's 243 assembly constituencies, with special reservations for STs and SCs, will adhere to stringent voter management protocols, limiting each polling station to 1,200 voters. Booth-level officers will carry identity cards to ensure streamlined voter interaction, and mobile phones must be deposited outside polling areas. Extensive webcasting will be employed to enhance oversight.

Enhancements to the EVM Ballot Papers have been instituted, including candidate photographs in color and digits printed in bold for clarity, as per revised election guidelines. The upcoming contest pits the ruling NDA, under CM Nitish Kumar, against the opposition Mahagathbandhan, making for a high-stakes electoral contest in the state.
