Amara Raja Powers Ahead: Doubling Lithium Energy Storage Deployment

Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd is set to double its cumulative lithium energy storage deployment in the telecom sector, aiming for 2 gigawatt-hours this year. This announcement follows the company surpassing a significant 1 gigawatt-hour milestone, as revealed by Executive Director Vikram Gourineni.

The company is positioned to extend its technology to new applications, such as data centers and energy storage, by developing new lithium solutions for its successful businesses. Expanding its facility in Telangana, Amara Raja plans to produce fully integrated packs and containers for Energy Storage Systems (ESS).

The achievement marks a milestone amid India's growing energy demand and infrastructure changes, notably with the 5G rollout and increased data center capacity. Amara Raja's expansion reflects broader trends toward renewable energy integration and the increasing importance of energy security and efficiency nationwide.
