The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating light rain, snowfall, and thunderstorms for isolated parts of Himachal Pradesh within the upcoming week. The state will experience temperatures that remain above normal, according to the Shimla-based IMD Meteorological Centre's latest bulletin, issued on Thursday.
Over the past 24 hours, Himachal Pradesh has seen dry conditions with no recorded rainfall or snowfall. Minimum temperatures have shown minimal variation, staying 2-4 degrees Celsius above the norm. Maximum temperatures, however, are exceeding normal values by 2-7 degrees Celsius in most regions. The minimum temperature plunged to 5.1°C at Kukumseri, while Uma saw a high of 38.7°C.
Predictions suggest light rain or snowfall could occur at isolated locations on April 24, 26, and 27, with light to moderate precipitation at a few spots on April 25, 28, and 29. Thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds between 30-40 kmph, are forecasted for April 24, 25, 28, and 29. Furthermore, districts in mid-hill zones like Shimla may experience these conditions, particularly on April 25.
