The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is set to enhance its efforts against substance abuse with the launch of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan App 2.0. This upgraded app will serve as a centralized platform, improving monitoring and coordination efforts under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction.
Initially launched on August 15, 2020, in 272 vulnerable districts, the program has expanded nationwide. The new features of the app will include e-pledges, educational content, and an easy way to find de-addiction centers. It is designed to expand access to information and support for citizens, alongside a feedback system to ensure continuous improvement.
The updated application will empower institutions with role-based access, enhancing transparency and effective fund utilization tracking. By reinforcing its digital infrastructure, the government aims to foster greater community involvement in reducing drug demand and supporting mental health initiatives.
