On Monday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai was present at the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, commemorating 75 years since the Somnath Temple's consecration. During the event, Sai highlighted the temple's historic resilience and its connection to India's modern-day perseverance, while addressing global energy concerns.
Reflecting on history, Sai celebrated the Somnath Temple as a national emblem enduring turmoil over centuries. He recognized the contributions made by India's founding figures, including Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. Rajendra Prasad, in ensuring the temple's restoration after repeated Mughal attacks. The historical event was further marked by Prime Minister Modi's visit for the Somnath Amrut Parv-2026. The Prime Minister described the festival as a beacon for India's future aspirations, framing it as a testament to cultural heritage and an inspiration for generations to come.
Shifting focus to current geopolitical themes, CM Sai bolstered PM Modi's seven fuel and energy conservation appeals amidst ongoing West Asian turbulence affecting global supply chains. He endorsed the government's measures and reassurance from the Informal Group of Ministers that India's energy reserves are robust. As international oil prices surge, PM Modi's appeal for prudent fuel consumption aims to mitigate national economic burdens while sustaining energy supply and preventing consumer spikes at home.
