A heartbreaking incident unfolded at a scenic hilltop near Mankada, where a sudden lightning strike claimed the lives of four young individuals on Tuesday evening, according to local police reports.

These victims, aged between 18 and 20, were part of a group of seven friends who had gathered at the popular viewpoint. The lightning struck around 6 pm, impacting all seven. Tragically, four succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital.

Reacting to this tragic event, Senior Congress leader V D Satheesan expressed his grief and condolences to the bereaved families. In a Facebook post, he emphasized the irreplaceable loss and called for premium medical assistance for the surviving three victims.
