CBI Investigates NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Amid Opposition Uproar

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has commenced an investigation into alleged irregularities and the paper leak of the NEET-UG 2026 exam, which was subsequently canceled. A team visited the National Testing Agency's office in Delhi, sources revealed, as part of the ongoing detailed probe into the scandal.

The cancellation has invoked a fierce political storm, with opposition parties squarely blaming the ruling central government for a series of ongoing paper leaks that have disrupted examinations. Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, has called upon Gen Z to unify in protest, accusing the government of systemic failures and potential high-level involvement in the scam.

Kejriwal pointed out that since 2014, 93 exam paper leaks allegedly affected six crore youths, predominantly in BJP-led states. He questioned the ability of the CBI to enforce accountability. Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency assures candidates that their registrations for the May 2026 exam cycle remain valid, with no additional fees necessary for the re-test.
