CBSE Class XII Results 2026: Girls Shine as Overall Pass Rate Declines
The CBSE has announced the Class XII results for 2026, with an overall pass rate of 85.20%. Girls outperformed boys, transgender students achieved a 100% pass rate, and Trivandrum was the top region. The board implemented On-Screen Marking, digital results are available, and supplementary exams are scheduled for July.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) unveiled the Class XII examination results for 2026, revealing an overall pass rate of 85.20%. This marks a decline of 3.9% compared to the previous year. A total of 18,57,517 students registered for these crucial exams, with girls once again surpassing boys. Female students achieved an impressive pass rate of 88.86%, while their male counterparts reached 82.13%. Transgender students made history with a flawless 100% pass rate.
In a move away from traditional merit lists, the board highlighted that 5.32% of students scored 90% and above, whereas 0.97% achieved scores of 95% and higher. The Trivandrum region led with a remarkable pass rate of 95.62%, followed closely by Chennai at 93.84% and Bengaluru at 93.19%. Meanwhile, Delhi's West region secured a pass rate of 92.34%, with Delhi East not far behind at 91.73%.
Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas emerged as top performers among institutions, boasting pass rates of 98.55% and 98.47%, respectively. This year, CBSE successfully adopted On-Screen Marking (OSM) for the evaluation of a staggering 9,866,622 answer scripts, aiming to reduce errors and enhance result accuracy. Students can access their results via the official CBSE website, DigiLocker, and the UMANG app. DigiLocker documents are valid for higher education admissions. For those looking to improve their results, supplementary exams will take place on July 15, 2026, with applications opening on June 2, 2026.
