Keralam state witnessed a vibrant start to the new academic year on Monday, as students returned to classrooms statewide. Revenue Minister A.P. Anil Kumar extended wishes to students, emphasizing values and social responsibility alongside academics. He likened school reopening festivities to major cultural celebrations for the people of Kerala.
Minister Kumar noted an influx of over two lakh students joining schools this year. He assured that improving educational standards and fostering a quality-focused education system would be top priorities under a UDF-led administration. The education sector, he affirmed, would receive utmost attention and focus.
In Thiruvananthapuram, Chief Minister VD Satheesan inaugurated the state-level school reopening ceremony, with Education Minister N Shamsudheen also attending. Highlighting the day's festive atmosphere, Minister Shamsudheen remarked on its significance for students. The government assigned district-wise responsibilities to ministers, aiming to streamline educational improvements across all 14 districts.
