In the early hours of Sunday, tragedy struck near Chennai's Koyambedu flyover when an 18-year-old woman lost her life, and her 17-year-old friend suffered severe injuries following a collision between their two-wheeler and a car.

Police have so far arrested three individuals connected to the fatal crash and confiscated the car believed to be involved. The incident unfolded shortly after midnight on the route from Koyambedu to Thirumangalam. Upon receiving reports of the crash, K-11 CMBT Police Station officers promptly arrived at the scene, where they found the young woman from Villupuram district dead. Her injured friend was immediately rushed to the Government Medical Hospital.

Initial investigations reveal both women and their acquaintances were at a private bar in Koyambedu on Saturday night. There, a verbal altercation with another group escalated into violence before bouncers intervened. The conflict reignited outside a nearby shop, leading to the women leaving on motorcycles while the opposing group pursued in a car. Allegations suggest the car occupants deliberately rammed the victims' vehicle, leading to the tragic outcome.

The K-11 CMBT Police have charged the suspects with murder. As investigations continue, authorities emphasize efforts to uncover the entire sequence of events, with special teams working to apprehend any remaining suspects who remain at large.
