TMC Expels Two Legislators Amid Controversy and Anti-Party Activity Charges

The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has expelled two of its legislators, Sandipan Saha and Ritabrata Banerjee, for alleged anti-party activities. The decision, effective immediately, comes amid heightened political tension as senior leader Suvendu Adhikari launched a strong attack on the party's leadership.

At a press conference, Adhikari emphasized that legal proceedings under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita would unfold, ensuring that individuals involved in signature forgery are held accountable. He detailed the timeline of events, highlighting a letter sent on May 9 by the AITC National General Secretary proposing leadership appointments in the Assembly.

Complications arose when Saha and Banerjee contested the process, leading to an FIR at Hare Street Police Station and an investigation by CID. Adhikari also announced the launch of AITC's 'Sankalp Patra' programs, including a free bus service for women, while urging citizens to maintain peace amid recent recoveries at TMC offices.
