Suvendu Adhikari, the West Bengal Chief Minister, visited the ISKCON headquarters in Mayapur on Thursday, where he took part in a traditional 'gau puja' ceremony.
The Chief Minister, clad in a white dhoti-kurta, performed rituals barefoot in the temple's 'gaushala' before offering fruits and sweets to the cows. Adhikari planned to meet with ISKCON monks and temple management during his visit. Significant security measures were enacted, with extensive police presence and barricading around the area. A sizable crowd of devotees assembled at the temple, eager to see the Chief Minister perform the religious ceremony.
