The West Bengal CID has issued a notice to Abhishek Banerjee, the national general secretary of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of forged signatures used in legislative communications.

This inquiry revolves around submissions made to the Assembly Secretariat, supposedly endorsing Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay as Leader of the Opposition. Banerjee has been asked to cooperate by appearing before the CID officials to provide information pertinent to the case.
