Maharashtra's Doctors on High Alert Amid Rising Indo-Pak Tensions

The Indian Medical Association's Maharashtra unit has called on doctors across the state to stay vigilant and ready to deliver emergency services as tensions rise between India and Pakistan.

In a statement, Dr. Santosh Kadam, president of IMA's state chapter, emphasized that in times of national crisis, the readiness and spirit of healthcare professionals are vital. A newly issued advisory encourages a swift and organized medical response to potential large-scale emergencies.

The IMA has urged member clinics, nursing homes, and hospitals to ensure they have adequate stocks of essential emergency medicines and life-saving drugs. Additionally, establishment of disaster management task forces comprising of senior clinicians, surgeons, anesthetists, emergency physicians, and volunteers has been advised.
