Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh announced a thorough investigation following the deaths of three patients at Jalandhar's civil hospital, attributed to an oxygen supply failure at the trauma center.
The victims, including a 15-year-old snakebite victim, were on ventilators during an oxygen dip on Sunday evening. Although backup oxygen systems were quickly activated, the patients succumbed to their ailments.
Political figures, including Congress members, criticized the handling of the incident, dubbing it 'murderous negligence' and demanding accountability. Health Minister Singh assured a prompt, independent investigation and pledged support to the grieving families.
