Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Salutes Nurses with 27x Stipend Boost on International Nurses Day

On International Nurses Day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made a significant announcement by approving a 27-fold increase in the stipends for nursing interns at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital. This development culminates a 27-year wait, with the stipend rising from Rs 500 to Rs 13,150, impacting 180 interns positively.

The Chief Minister praised nurses for their indispensable role in healthcare during her visit to the hospital, highlighting their contribution to patient care, and acknowledged the profession's inherent challenges and dedication. Gupta met with nursing staff, including professionals from various Indian states, to express gratitude and listen to their experiences.

The Delhi government aims to enhance the working environment and rights for healthcare workers, as reflected in the distribution of appointment letters to new nursing officers and paramedical staff. Gupta affirmed the shared responsibility of the government and society in respecting and supporting nurses.
