Following precision missile strikes by India on terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the US Embassy in India has issued a travel warning for Americans, advising against visiting Jammu and Kashmir. The advisory comes after a security alert and highlights new flight disruptions across the region.
The embassy urged US nationals to monitor updates via social media and enroll in the Smart Traveller Enrollment Program (STEP) for security alerts. US citizens should inform relatives of their safety and review security protocols. The embassy emphasized that it and its consulates continue to operate as usual.
India's strikes, named 'Operation Sindoor,' targeted terrorist infrastructure in retaliation for the deadly Pahalgam attack. Indian officials outlined targets, which included camps linked to major terrorist organizations. These coordinated military efforts were executed across nine locations based on credible intelligence, aiming to dismantle terror networks.
