Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday called for calm between India and Pakistan, urging both countries to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further escalation of tensions. The ministry also advised its citizens against unnecessary travel to Kashmir and nearby regions amid ongoing hostilities.

In a statement, Brazil reiterated its strong condemnation of all forms of terrorism and assured that it is monitoring the conditions of its citizens in the conflict zones. It provided emergency hotline numbers for Brazilians located in New Delhi and Islamabad.

The call for restraint comes in the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. The situation intensified after India launched precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as part of Operation Sindoor, leading to successful hits on nine targets.

On Friday, the Additional Directorate General of Public Information confirmed through a post on X that Operation Sindoor effectively neutralized several drone attacks and ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC). These incidents occurred during the night of May 8 and 9, demonstrating India's commitment to its territorial integrity.

Sources reported to ANI that over 50 Pakistani drones were shot down during extensive counter-drone operations conducted by the Indian Army along the LoC and International Borders on Thursday, following attempts by Pakistan to infiltrate Indian airspace with swarm drones.
