In a scathing critique on Friday, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri condemned Pakistan's attacks on May 8, which targeted various locations in India, including Amritsar. He dismissed Islamabad's allegations that India was attacking its own cities as "preposterous and outrageous." Misri also denounced Pakistan's disinformation campaign about a supposed drone strike on the Nankana Sahib Gurdwara, branding it a blatant lie.
Addressing a press briefing, Misri said Pakistan accused India of attacking its own territories, a claim he termed a "deranged fantasy" reflecting the Pakistani state's historical narratives. He emphasized that the attacks were aimed deliberately at Indian cities and civilian infrastructure, along with military establishments.
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, at the same briefing, revealed that 300 to 400 drones, suspected to be Turkish-made Asisguard Songar models, were used by Pakistan to violate Indian airspace, targeting military infrastructure and testing air defense systems. India's armed forces effectively neutralized the drone threat and responded proportionately to these provocative actions.
