In a significant diplomatic maneuver, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a five-nation tour beginning July 2, focusing on strengthening India's bilateral relations. The countries include Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia, with notable developments such as establishing a vaccine hub in Ghana and expanding the Unified Payments Interface in Namibia. This visit aims to reinforce India's strategic partnerships with these nations while addressing key issues like economic cooperation and defense collaboration.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, a major focus during the Ghana visit is the development of a vaccine hub to bolster the country's healthcare infrastructure amid economic restructuring under IMF conditions. Secretary of Economic Relations, Dammu Ravi, emphasized agriculture and digital public infrastructure as other critical agenda items. The Prime Minister will engage in significant talks with Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama, addressing parliament and interacting with the Indian community to solidify bilateral ties.
During his stop in Namibia, Modi will participate in talks with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and address parliament, continuing India's historical ties with the nation. Key discussions will include digital payment system expansions and resource exchanges. The tour, which includes attending the BRICS Summit in Brazil, signifies a strategic effort to deepen India's global engagement and cooperation with countries in diverse sectors.
