Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to set off on a noteworthy international tour encompassing five nations: Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia. Scheduled for the initial week of July, the visit aligns with the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where Modi will engage in high-level bilateral discussions with global leaders, officials confirmed on Monday.

In a briefing by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Secretary for Economic Relations Dammu Ravi outlined India's upcoming chairmanship of the BRICS at the Brazil Summit next year. He highlighted the summit's theme, 'Strengthening Global South Cooperation for Inclusive and Sustainable Governance,' underscoring India's pivotal role in strengthening international alliances.

The summit's agenda includes critical topics such as global governance reform, peace and security, and climate action. On July 5, discussions will commence with only full BRICS members participating. Secretary Ravi elaborated on the meeting's format, emphasizing consensus-based decision-making. Additionally, PM Modi will engage in bilateral talks with several nations, exploring strategic partnerships in trade, energy, and technology.
