Recent heavy monsoon rains have overwhelmed residents in Muzaffarabad's Bandi Mir Samdani, Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), causing severe waterlogging and halting daily activities.

The main thoroughfare in the region is submerged under floodwaters, affecting shops and homes and bringing widespread distress to locals. Residents are calling on the government to clear the blocked natural drainage routes urgently. One resident highlighted, "The blocked routes are causing significant water accumulation, warning of continued flooding and water scarcity issues."

Despite the crisis's severity, local authorities have not implemented effective measures to alleviate the residents' suffering. Frustrated locals point to absent elected leaders and report that some homes are submerged under five feet of water. The neglect highlights PoJK's stagnant development, where citizens suffer due to poor infrastructure and ineffective governance, compounded by Islamabad's strategic focus over genuine welfare efforts.
