The Indian Navy's stealth frigate, INS Trikand, recently made calls at Taranto, Italy, during an ongoing deployment in the Mediterranean Sea, as reported by the Indian Navy. The port visit involved significant professional exchanges focusing on sharing best practices and boosting mutual interoperability with the Italian Navy.

Captain Sachin Kulkarni, Commanding Officer of INS Trikand, met with Rear Admiral Andrea Petroni in Italy, underscoring bilateral relations. The visit highlighted efforts to strengthen defense cooperation between India and Italy, reflecting both nations' commitment to growing maritime partnerships.

Previously, INS Trikand arrived in Alexandria, Egypt, participating in Exercise Bright Star 2025. This US Central Command-led exercise aimed at regional security and interoperability, included nations such as Saudi Arabia and Greece. The Indian Navy described the exercise as enhancing India-Egypt friendships, with discussions promoting military and cultural ties.
