Global Diplomacy Unfolds: India Hosts BRICS Foreign Ministers
The BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting will see the arrival of key international figures in New Delhi. Among them, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will engage in diplomatic discussions, with bilateral talks on pivotal topics in global cooperation and regional stability.
In a significant diplomatic event, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono touched down in New Delhi on Wednesday to participate in the anticipated BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting. The Ministry of External Affairs extended a 'warm welcome' via a social media post, setting the stage for intensive global engagements over the next few days.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is also expected in India, aiming to hold comprehensive discussions with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Their talks will focus on furthering India-Russia cooperation, addressing agreements from President Putin's 2025 visit, and preparing for upcoming dialogues and forums on trade and cultural cooperation.
Further global participation includes Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, enhancing the high-level deliberations in New Delhi on May 14 and 15. This event, pivotal to India's 2026 BRICS Chairmanship, underscores its strategic role in multilateral engagements within the expanded alliance.
