In a resolute assertion of New Delhi's geopolitical priorities amidst escalating global tensions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for diplomatic solutions to the crises in Ukraine and West Asia during a joint press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store. Modi emphasized that military action alone cannot ensure lasting peace.

Highlighting shared values, Prime Minister Modi stated that both India and Norway are committed to a rules-based international order and prioritizing diplomacy. "India and Norway both believe in a rules-based order, dialogue, and diplomacy," he said, adding that global security issues necessitate an early resolution.

The high-level discussions took place following Modi's arrival in Oslo, part of his significant four-nation European journey. Modi articulated a vision for revising multilateral institutions to tackle global challenges and acknowledged Norway's unwavering support against terrorism during the Pahalgam attack.

The Indian leader expressed gratitude for Norway's unwavering friendship and announced Norway joining the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative. This strategic move aims to enhance cooperation in maritime fields. During the diplomatic visit, Modi received Norway's top civilian award, reinforcing his efforts to strengthen bilateral ties.
