Tribute to Justice J Sathya Narayana Prasad: A Legacy of Service
Justice J Sathya Narayana Prasad of the Madras High Court passed away at age 56 due to cardiac arrest. Born in Thanjavur and raised in Vellore, he had an illustrious career, culminating in his elevation as a judge in 2021. As a mark of respect, the Madras High Court and associated institutions were closed, with Chief Minister M K Stalin paying his respects.

Justice J Sathya Narayana Prasad, a respected member of the Madras High Court, passed away on Tuesday evening following a severe cardiac arrest, confirmed sources.
Born in 1969 in Thanjavur district, Justice Prasad relocated to Vellore and pursued his education at Loyola College, Chennai, and the University of Delhi. He joined the Bar Council in 1997, later ascending to the judiciary in 2021. His father, R Jaiprasad, also served in the judiciary.
In honor of Justice Prasad, Chief Justice K R Shriram announced the closure of the Madras High Court and associated institutions in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Chief Minister M K Stalin also paid floral tributes to his legacy.
