Speaking at the book launch of 'Narratives off the Bench - A Judge Speaks', a collection of Justice Ramana's speeches, Gavai emphasized Ramana's unique approach to judicial transparency. Ramana's tenure was marked by his commitment to diversity, inclusiveness, and his groundbreaking decision to have nine judges sworn in simultaneously, including Justice BV Nagarathna, who may become the first female Chief Justice of India.
