In response to recent geopolitical tensions, authorities in Srinagar have established a central control room to monitor developments following India's missile strikes targeting nine terror infrastructure sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

A statement from the local district magistrate noted that a Joint Control Room is now operational at the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC), helmed by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). This facility is designed to operate round-the-clock, serving as a centralized hub for interdepartmental coordination.

The control room's duties include real-time monitoring of ongoing situations, ensuring timely information dissemination, and acting as a grievance redressal platform for the general public. Concurrently, the Jammu and Kashmir government has directed administrative sectors to limit employee leave to only exceptional circumstances.
