In a swift and proactive response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the states of Punjab and Rajasthan have heightened security measures. On Thursday, officials confirmed the closure of schools in border districts and the cancellation of all police personnel and administrative officials' leaves, following India's military strike on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

In Punjab, a 532-km border state, all schools in six districts have been shut down to prevent any untoward incidents, aligning with the government's strategic response. This follows an order from the DGP canceling leaves of Punjab Police, except under special circumstances. This decisive action underscores the critical role of the state amid any military confrontation.

Similarly, Rajasthan has implemented precautions in its four border districts, ordering the closure of all educational institutions and the cancellation of police leaves. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma convened meetings with key officials to ensure preparedness for any emergencies that may arise from the mounting Indo-Pak tensions. Security has been tightened across both states to safeguard against potential threats.
