Ukraine is seeking international support to pressure Russia into accepting a 30-day ceasefire. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, disclosed that discussions are underway with senior officials from the U.S., France, Britain, and Germany.
Yermak emphasized that an unconditional ceasefire is the first step towards achieving sustainable peace. The discussions also covered potential measures if Russia rejects the ceasefire proposal or violates any agreements.
Kiev has signaled its willingness to accept the U.S.'s immediate ceasefire proposal but criticized the Kremlin for proposing a mere three-day truce. The issue arises as Russia plans a military parade coinciding with Victory Day celebrations.
